I got some heat sheathing awhile ago and wrapped up the new and prepared for install, now lets go over what my older wires looked like
The last plug on the passenger side was the worst, it was brittle to the point of collapsing as soon as I touched it... This wire was in my car for just barely 4 months... I took it out and it just bursts into a fine bitter puree of dust... the wrest has archs burnt into them and just easily rattled around... These were 8mm Bosch Wires...
I installed Taylor 8mm wires with heat sheathing surrounding them where they are close to the sparkplug and around the manifolds... The one on the passenger side of course would have the longest sleave... I threw as much as I could on the boot to act as a protector from the heat...
Well I took it out and there was quite a difference... Car starts immediatly up, no wait period... Starts like brand new with 155K on the clock... Accelleration is smoother and will just about take off from any speed... Idle has stopped loping around aswell...
My only concern is with these stock manifolds, how long my heat sheathing will protect my wires... Other than that, besides CAI this is perhaps one of the best mods yet... Just hoping it can sustain long runs at those high temps...
