  • clicking sound after spark plug wire change

Okay, so I changed my spark plugs and wires(AC/Delco, MSD) so I start it up and its fine. So then I go to take it for a drive and I hear a loud clicking sound coming from the driver side of the engine. And then the SES light comes on and stays on. And some sort of burning smell. What is going on with my piece of **** car?

By the way, its a 1997 3.8. Could it be the wires are screwed up or something. The first time I tried to start it, it backfired and ran like ****. Figured out 2 wires were crossed. But now what is wrong with it? It seemed fine until I took off.

Sounds like an arcing wire to me. Run it in a dark area and look for an arc.

what you should do is read forum reals and see that your title of the thread is not appreciated as it doesn't help anyone when searching for answers to see a thread labeled "help" and also people that know the answers won't come in here if you don't say what the problem is in the title

            rant off....

examine wires with engine running to see if they are arching, make sure they are not touching the exhaust or anything and are not crossed.
