I bought my car off of ebay...got loan and everything now my mom says I might have to pay sales tax? wtf is that? I live in pa I bought the car in indiana...Am I going to have to pay sales tax or will they jus let me register it?

Yup, you have to pay sales tax, even if you bought the car from out of state.

In MA, it's 5%. You pay it along with the reg. fee.

Absolutely....Sales taxes are asessed at the point of registration except if you purchase it from a dealer, in which case they do it and handle the license plate and registration for you at the time of the sale. But if you purchase from an individual, "mono y mono", then it becomes your responsibility at the time of transfer in your home state. I bought my bird off ebay...best car deal I ever got! Taxes or not!

Welcome to the wonderful world of taxes. We ALL must pay, and it's not easy to see that at least 1/3 of your paycheck goes to some of those knuckleheads who run our country.

Not sure, I live in DE and bought my car brand new in PA. There is no sales tax in DE but PA does carry one. I didnt have to pay the tax since i was an out of state resident. I just had to pay my state's own title and tag fees instead...
