Laundry List of problems!!

Hey guys,
I have a 99 3.8 camaro w/ 83000 miles on it. I've had the car for 2 years and i bought it with 62000 miles on it. Car always ran fine, no problems at all... until now! First off, my SES light came on about 2 months ago. No idea why its on... might need a tune up possibly. Second, my power steering is out... it happend after a weekend where we had tons of snow and cars was stuck it snow. May have burnt the power steering pump. Third, sometimes when i start my car, the RPM's rev up and down a few times, then car starts to idle rough. Seems like my gas mileage is way down as well. Fourth, whenever i hit the brakes to come to a stop, there sounds like a clicking noise, almost like a rubbing sound coming from the car!! It seems like it never ends!! I was wonderng if anyone could fill me in on what may be the cause of some of these problems and which one is a more pressing issue seeing as how i'm a poor student and can only fix one thing at a time. Go to your local Autozone and get your car scanned for FREE. They can tell you why the SES light is on. That could be the root cause of many of your problems.

For the power steering, does it have fluid? Is the belt turning the pulley?

For the brakes, could be many things and it is very serious. Brake failure could be fatal. Get it to a shop and get it fixed.

My SES like is always going on and off..there a way to scan whats wrong if the light it off?

yes. The car will store the codes in memory until they're deleted, so take it to them and they can scan it.

QFT... Check the SES light first... that helps out greatly.
When my p/s went out, the shaft broke and the pulley was freewheeling. have someone w/ a ratchet loosen the belt tensioner and then see if theres any freeplay in the shaft or if the shaft turns at all

brakes could be many things. look at the pads, your disks might be out-of-round, etc. if you cant figure it out, take it to a shop. it must be fixed asap.
