Clogged Cat a possible explaination?

THIS IS NOT FOR A CAMARO...it's for a 89 Cutlass FWD 2.8V6 that I'm looking into buying. Went and looked at it today, the guy said I couldn't drive it home bc it would die. Sure enough about 10min of idling and it died. He said the cat was clogged? Is this a reasonable explaination?

Also, one of the wishbone motor mounts was loose...what does this tell me?

what was the idle like? was it rough or did the engine seem to cut out for no reason?

The idle seemed to be fine, a little bit high, like 1,200rpms.

The rev seemed OK, a little rough

I talked to the guy for like 10min and it shut off

(also, the muffler was rusted out...may support a rusted out cat)

what does this 89 cutlass look like just wonderin cause i sold an 89 cutlass like a couple years ago and haven't seen it since.

Well...it's a two tone (blue on top w/ silver bottom)

It's the International trim, loaded w/ digital dash...

What could cause the car to just shut off after awhile? It runs good then just shuts off...
