My key has one of those chips in it.... does that mean i cant get a remote start alarm to work on it? Or what? If anyone has any webpages on it or any info that would be great THANKS!!

yes you can get remote start to work.... i just had remote start and remote door lock module installed in mine for $235. i ordered a unit off the internet from commando for 110, but i sent it back .. too many wires and no easy wiring diagram.. just can't see me cutting on my wiring and being color blind....... you have a gorgeous sister would she be interested in an old man(38) like me/////

The chip is a resistor - it prevents other keys cut the same from working on the vehicle.
A remote start car alarm will work on any automatic vehicle (and possibly on manuals, I don't know....), regardless of whether the ignition uses the resistance-verification technology or not.1998 Arctic White Firebird

You can bypass the chip thing by using a resistor.
