  • Engine reving at 3000 rpm all the time.

OK, trying to keep this short. It is a 2001 Camaro 3.8L V6 (approx 40K mi). I just finished doing a head gasket job (another story). Got everything back together and naturally had a hard time getting it to start.

After playing around with it for a couple of days. I got it running, rough at first but gradually better. But now every time I start it, it immediately revs to 3000 rpm and stays there. can't get it to return to idle. I know there are DTCs, but I can't drive the car to somewhere where I can put a scanner on it.

Any suggestions on things to check?

Should I get a Scanner clear the codes and go from there?

that's what I'm going to say is your problem. Recheck all your hoses and clamps to make sure everything is on good and snug
