I've been noticing HORRIBLE fuel economy. (About 10-11 MPG? I use to get 17-20) and for the past couple of months I've noticed something is ****ed up with my car. Whenever I start it and pull out of a parking space in a parking lot if I try to do it without throwing a rev or using the gas... the cars oil pressure goes waaay down and damn near stalls... I'm letting the clutch out as SLOW as I can, I use to be able to do it fine. If I give it a rev to about 3k I can pretty much drop the clutch if I want.
I went to O'Reillys today and borrowed their OBD-1 Scanner. It pulled the trouble code saying "EGR Solenoid 1" so I went in and the cheapest one was like $150, AC Delco was like $350.
Anyway, is that a typical symptom of a stuck/failing EGR valve? Or could it be something else that isn't throwing a code? (oil sending unit? o2?) Is this something that can be easily replaired myself? Where's the EGR valve on a 1994 3.4L
