  • Time to play NAME THAT SOUND!

ok so I took a 50sec clip of this sound, please listen to it and tell me what you think is the problem

It is a '99 camaro 3.8 with about 87K miles on it

recently I had a problem with the oil pressure regulator, it caused my oil pressure to shoot up and actually blow my oil filter right off(along with all of the oil in the engine) I shut off the motor before the oil pressure hit zero though.

Although I have heard this sound a little bit before the above incident, It goes away once the engine gets hot.

^Agreed. At least...that what it sounds like. Pull the valve cover and have a look-see.

you cant get to the lifters just pulling valve covers though, you have to pull upper and lower intake to get to them i believe, have fun with that, there are worse things to be doing, but i still wouldnt want to

yea, tempo's too slow to be an exhaust leak...probably a lifter

that'd be kinda hard to do just from listening to it, since all the lifters are like within 2 inches of one another
