Over the past 3 months or so I have noticed an increase in my idle RPM. When I am in drive the idle sometimes is about 1500 RPM, but when I put it into neutral it shoots up to 2000-2700 RPM. This is annoying and wastes gas. I have no SES light on, and the throttle cable is not sticking. I cleaned the throttle plate and it still does it. Could this be a screwy throttle position sensor?
