cant get auto shifter off

i have a 98 camaro and i cant get my auto shifter off i got the spring off and the thing u push. i cant get the leather/plastic piece off does it unscrew if so with way do i just pull it or is there an o ring i have to get off???? please help

the auto shift knob? you need to take out the u shaped pin. put it in first pull the pin, then pull off the knob.

i only see an o ring in there

its looks like i have an oring on the top inside of the shifter and one at the bottom, what happens if i just pull the hell out of it or turn it what will break? this has to come off sat
