This may be a dumb question but oh well. I managed to get my Camaro stuck twice today(note in only 3 or 4inches of snow). did i hurt anything by spinning so much? i know with a front wheel drive trans axels, that can really screw them up when you sit there and spin. just wondering if i could have hurt something by doing that. i didn't spin much above 3500rpm, only for a few seconds did i go above that. How do any of you snow people drive these cars in the snow!??? thanks guys

I drove in the snow all the time. I dont have too many problems unless its ICY. I just go like 1/2 the speedlimit and do the occasional "non purposeful 360 in the middle of the road"

LOL, driving my F-body in the snow isn't too fun. This winter has been awful in Ohio. Best bet is to go SLOWWWWWWWWWW. No harm. Your car just "thinks" its going faster than it actually is. I know it plays electronic games with the ABS because my "ABS INOP" light will sometimes come on while spinning
A word of advice: If you get stuck going up a hill (stopped and can't get going again) do NOT put it in neutral and try backing up. You WILL slide uncontrollably and sideways into any vehicles stopped behid you. What I do in this situation (stuck on an uphill) is wait until there is no oncoming traffic (or people trying to get around you) and punch the gas with the wheel cut to the left. You can do a "U" turn in a real hurry then go back down the hill forwards and hopefully get a run at it coming back up. Oh, and wave at the front wheel driver behind you who can't get over the "glaze" on the road that you just made spinning. I've seen them try doing the same maneuver\'01 Camaro M5 1SA \"Lightweight\" hardtop, Bright Red, Ebony cloth, FRA, Whisper Lid, B&B cat-back, Torsen 3.73 LSD, HPPIII (93 octane setting)
\'00 Camaro SS M6 T-Top, all GM and most SLP opts., Bright Red, Ebony leather, 4.10s, SLP long tubes, Loudmouth, CNC Stage II H/C, etc.

Yeah... Driving these cars in the snow is a *****!
Next winter, I'm buying a beater, that way my car doesn't have to deal with salt, and I don't have to deal with near death experances every damn day.
On Monday it snowed a few inches, and the roads were bad. I came over a hill and a plow was coming up the other side. Well, those of you who live where there is snow, know the plow sticks over the center line, so I had to hit the shoulder. Hitting the shoulder with 4" of snow and slush on it, with one back tire going 45 is NOT fun.
I can't wait till spring... 1997 Cayenne Red Metallic Camaro
3.8 V6 M5
SLP Cold Air Intake
Ceramic Coated Pacesetter Headers
Flowmaster American Thunder Catback
Full 3.42 & Disc Break Rear End Swap

I drive in the snow daily. I just throw 100 pounds of salt or sand in the trunk. If you do a lot of granny shifting then driving in the snow is easy. Push the gas too hard and that rear end likes to fly.
Parking lots are a lot of fun....you don't even need that much snow. Just a light powder and you can 360, and power-slide all ya want. :D
I made it through about 6 inches the other day, w/ No problems. Guess I am used to the nice winters of MI, and rear wheel drive of F-bodies.Chris Reedy
1999 Camaro Black w/ Silver Stripes, M5.
