What all happens electrically when the key is turned to ON?

Im talking specifically about in the engine compartment.

It's easy to assume that the fuel pump would build pressure for one, but what else?

I'm getting clicking sounds coming from the throttle body if I leave the key ON with the motor off. If I pull out the plug that is culprit, it goes away, what is that and why would it click?

Also if you know the other things that occur please list them for troubleshooting.

what plug are you pulling?

It is the plug on top of the throttle body, i believe there is only one.

I started the car with the plug off and the revs stayed @ 3000 which is way too high so I think its a type of sensor to keep air/fuel right but not sure why it would click repetitively like that.

that would be your Mass Air Flow sensor, leave it plugged in

clicking? How loud? Thats kinda weird. Are you sure its that plug?

well the throttle body at ON moves the butterfly from a locked position witch is about 2-3clicks...

is this clicking constant??? or is it just the 2-3clicks??

I only disconnected it to troubleshoot.

Yes, it clicks repetitively

I'm guessing it repeats the 2-3 click cycle over and over. constantly.
