• Should I get the underdrive pully set?

ASP Underdrive Pulleys are CNC machined from billet steel or aluminum, exceeding factory quality. For 3.4L V6 Camaros and Firebirds, ASP has two pulley choices. The underdrive crank and underdrive alternator pulley set (49-541801) is only recommended for manual transmission cars and cars that are not running large stereo systems.
I was thinking of getting a set but they said it is only recommended for manual cars. I have an auto. And I have a decent system in my car. Should I not get the alt. pulley or get a high output alt. or just get a capacitor?

I have a 94' 3.4 manual, ASP underdrive set, and a 1200 watt stereo system (1 farad capacitor). I've noticed that at idle, or 800 rpm the volts drop down to about 13 or so, but if you just tap the gas up to like 1000 rpm the volts shoot right back up to norm. I've never had any problems with the set so you should be fine. (the capacitor helped, btw) You should be able to feel the power difference with the pulleys installed, much quicker response.

if you're not sure, just get the ASP crank pulley.

It's just a crank, so I'll get rid of it and the belt for about $30

you need a smaller belt I forgot the size, I had mine for so long, I just took it in and asked the guy to give me one slightly smaller then this one...

I had some voltage problems with a stock stereo but my alternator ---> battery wire was having issues... I never put hte alt back on, I gave mine to a friend and he hasn't had any problems on his car, he has no system but his car is a 5-speed.

In my opinion, buy them used, they don't exactly "go bad" and they are not that wonderful for what they cost new.
