  • Seafoam semi-new motor?

My motor only has 7xxx on it. But I am having some oil pressure issues. Should I sea foam it just for the hell of it. Really I dont think I have pressure problems I just think its the gauge. Because when my brother owned the car he had problems. Then when I built and put the new motor in a year ago I had them too.

    Whats your alls take?

gauge or sending unit hook up a mechanical gauge to check it there is no need to seafoam yet it would be a waste of money

A waste of money, yea... a whole $5!

Not saying you should seafoam it, but its not like it would be a huge waste..

Mechanical gauge would be a good idea.

If you don't already have the gauge just seafoam it and see if that fixes it. I usually try the cheapest solution first, but not necessarily the most likley. (not sure if thats a good thing)

you can damage your engine by seafoam all the time and when it is unnecessary.

sonds like you have bigger problems than wasting 5 bucks on seafoam or having a faulty gauge.
what do you mean by "oil pressure issues"? running a motor low on oil for 50 miles will cause issues.

What I mean is just the gauge is acting up thats it. Atleast thats all I hope it is. I'll figure it out this weekend.

I already have a can of seafoam, but I think I'm going to hold off on using it. I'll just go buy a gauge. What do I need to hook it up to?
