How Do I Get My Thermostat Off

Just need to now how to get that thermostat cover off. Do I need to take off my air intake? please say no.

YES YOU HAVE TOO!!!

No just take the TB and intake off and that should be it I think...If not move whatever else is in your way...Its 2 13mm or 10mm bolts easy! And while your in there do a TB bypass and 160 stat.

you can do it with an extension and swivels and not remove anything

Not extensions...You maybe able to get a 1/4 inch ratchet and socket in there. But take the TB and intake off for more room...I'll look at my motor later and see exatly what you have to do.

Ok, I was able to get the cover off. Thanks for the help. but after i put it back on I relized that it had cracked completley in half, and none of the local auto shops carry thoes. so it looks like off to the junk yard I go so I can do it all over again. Should I not be tighening thoes bolts very tight next time?

No you dont have to tightin them as much as you did...Just over snug and if it leaks tightin it more....No harm

ok you see under your TB is two hoses one going in and one going out...Well there both connected to another hose right under them. Disconnect them from the top. Then just connect the 2 ports on the bottom together.

The way its set up now is it heats up the air going it into the intake. Which as we all know hot air is not good for the motor. Well this no longer allows collant to flow through the TB. It is said that its a 5-10 HP gain how true that is I'd know.
