Please tell me what this part is officially named, and what its purpose is!..its some sort of vaccuum hose that goes to some sort of a sensor i believe...no one knows

im throwing a P0442 code..small evap emiss leak...it was cracked, i replaced the elbow with a hose that seems to fit tight..could this be whats throwing the code?...also, could it cause sputtering or not?

thats my engine bay... and it has 140k miles on it. It runs perfect and idles perfect.

probably had a motor/trans swap too. that car has definately seen a good bit of saltwater, look at the hardware, strut towers, airbox, pullies, etc. mine has 170K miles and dosent look like that... rust FTMFL

I looke up the owners and the car has resides in canada and michigan and now kentucky. Everything is original and stock
