Please tell me what this part is officially named, and what its purpose is!..its some sort of vaccuum hose that goes to some sort of a sensor i believe...no one knows

im throwing a P0442 code..small evap emiss leak...it was cracked, i replaced the elbow with a hose that seems to fit tight..could this be whats throwing the code?...also, could it cause sputtering or not?Comment

probably had a motor/trans swap too. that car has definately seen a good bit of saltwater, look at the hardware, strut towers, airbox, pullies, etc. mine has 170K miles and dosent look like that... rust FTMFLfoggy headlights? wetsand... buff... WAX!!!
