two problems, need ideas

i've got two problems, first off, my BRAKE light is on in my car, what could that mean? does that mean my brakes are shot? or i have a master cylinder leaking? I filled the fluid so i know it's not that.

Second, my temperature gauge does not go up at all. It stays at or below 100 degrees the whole ride. I put a 180 degree thermostat in my car, but i don't think that has anything to do with the gauge. The sensor appears not to be broken so i don't know what else it could be...

any insights?

i have had both those problems with my 94 bird. And it was really random when once my ebrake light stayed on with my ebrake off. But that went away after a day. And my temp gauge also doesnt work to well. When my new thermostat was put in it would work somewhat but then a week later it just stopped showing tempurature completley, wierd huh.

i wouldnt worry about the brake light, but i would get a new coolant temp sensor.
