    Sorry is so long!
Ok, this post is for my friend's '96 3.8. Firestone said the car was ready and that they had locked the key in the car and to just use the second key to get in. Well, when we opened the door the alarm started to go off and we noticed that the car was in neutral and the ignition wouldnt turn. This is when we realized that someone had tried to steal it. Well Firestone took responsibility and replaced her steering column and ignition but now everytime she opens the door her alarm goes off. It's been six days now. I went ahead and disconnected the horn to the alarm but her lights still flash and everything even when she drives! The hazards only flash when the alarm goes off but not when you turn them on. We also noticed that her horn doesnt work anymore. The horn button on the right doesnt even push in and the other just sinks in when you push but nothing happens. Does anyone have a clue what Firestone f*&^%d up! Any suggestions are helpful.

I wonder if they got the vats key system all messed up, try disconnecting the battery touch the cables together for 20 sec and then reconnect and see if that helps.

the alarm has nothing to do with VATS. your going to have to find out why the remote isn't working. If you lock the door by hand (by sliding the lock bar) so that it doesn't set the alarm and then open it with the key does it still go off? My guess is that the alarm is arming but not dissarming

sounds like it has a passive alarm like mine and it arms itself after so many seconds even if you dont hit the button to do it yourself..and that is not shutting off for some reason

Ok, I just spoke to my friend and she said she got the alarm to stop. Apparently there are two buttons down below where the relay button is and she was hitting the wrong one. That still doesnt explain the issue with the horn. Any ideas?
