Well lately my car hestitaes a lot when starting adn when it does the engine revs itself to about 2k then drops. Then back up. I changed the fuel filter and the plugs and wires checked out okay. Could I have a bad fuel pump? Whenever I get off of my car, there is this strong smell of gas. The cap is locked and everything so I am thinking fuel pump. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Get a fuel pressure tester and check the pressure and how long it holds the pressure for.Matt

My car had a terrible time starting when the pump was failing, and when it would start and get pressure tested everything was fine. Pump or FPR maybe!Comment
