    Re: G/N Injectors

this is gonna sound like a rediculously n00by question (and it is) but...
what exactly are you referring to when you say 24 or 30 lb injectors? i thought it had to do with the fuel psi, but thats based on the fuel pump/fpr i thought... maybe it has to do with lbs of fuel/hour? (like how the pilots refer to fuel in lbs... but why would u do that on a car... wouldnt it just be gallons/hr??)
    so confused...

Camaro Dom that is the flow rate of the injectors. All of that trouble just to go cheaper to use bigger injectors Summit is $165 for a set of 6 put them in and no extra fabrication, cheaper is one thing but they are some things not recomended used, especially electrical components and on the down side that put down or not used with gasoline. It would be so much easier to know what you have than what you end up with, the spray pattern may be different, the resistance value must be known, and the flow of the injectors, all those things add up then hamper performance and give problems that we don't want.
When someone post a problem on what they vehicle is doing they say what it is doing and in some cases never say what they did in the first place that caused it and that makes troubleshooting more difficult,so choose wisely.

ls v8 injectors are good. i don't know the truck #/hr off hand, but the ls1 is 22#, and the ls6 is 25.5#. the ls7 injectors (also on ls3) are 47#, and are dirt cheap. the ls7 is also a 4 hole injector.

i was told the l67 injectors are also 4 hole. the ac injectors are 1 hole. 4 holes means 1/4 the droplet volume, and much higher surface area. you get more power, and better fuel economy from better atomization.

i'm planning to get the slp adjustable fuel pressure regulator and walbro pump, and jack the pressure up to ~80 psig. stock injectors can handle 100 psig according to zzp - the pump can give 68 psig. the increased pressure will roughly half the droplet size again. it will also support more hp with the same injector.

It depends on the year of your car. If you have a 2000+ you've got motec 2 injectors which is a diffrent plug setup than the motec 1's. If you have the 2's then 43# off a late model truck should do the trick and you'll need to get a pre 98 v6 fuel rail or cut down your existing. Pre 2000's I think you can get away with most standard injectors.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
