  • O2 Sensor Replacement

I have seen several maintenence issues on the board about replacing O2 sensors. I have 55,000 miles on a '97 A4. What exactly are the pros to replacing them...?

Pro= Replace them if one or more is bad

It will not do a darn thing if you replace one that is working 100% already. If it starts going bad, your SES will let you know.

Generally the rule is to replace them every 100K, unless they go bad before then. Trust me, it's not something to look forward to. The one in the passenger's side exhaust manifold is a royal PITA......

Either way your car for the most part shoudl be fine... Only thing offhand other then a defect failure I can think of is maybe if you ran leaded fuel through your car but that is unlikely.

Getting any codes about them? If not I woudln't worry.
