I was going down the freeway at about 80. When i punched the gas my tach and speedo went down??? When i let off the gas it shot up to 90. What happened?

my car had a similar problem about 3 years ago i was on the interstate and when i got on the gas the dash gauges would freak out. come to find out it was just my battery terminals, they had come loose and just needed a quick tighting. try this and it may work.96 3.8L silver w/black 30th anv. stripes, SLP CAI, SLP IAT, SLP SFC, SLP SS ZR1 17\'x9\' w/Bridgestone RE730 GEN2 275/40, SLP t/o Shocks, Eibach Pro Kit, BMR panhard, 1LE tranny mount, custom cat back, taylor 8mm wires, B&M Shift Kit stage 2, and over 115,000 miles and running strong!! -
Was it just the dials or did the car shift up and down. If it shifted crazy it could be a sticking throttle valve.Comment

When i punched it I could feel the car getting somewhat faster, the speedo went down though.
