In 1st gear the car feels strong WOT.
In 2nd gear, @ WOT the car will usually backfire then accelerate briskly up to speed with a feel in the seat-of-pants meter that the car should have more power than it does.
In 3rd, 4th, and 5th @ WOT the car usually wont backfire, but briskly accelerate and somewhat even out at times up until redline while sometimes still seeming lacking in motivation.

fresh oil change
new fuel filter
thorough cleaning on engine compartment/wire
bought the car with suspected new plugs/wires. Look new.
ALSO: On occasions where i drift-start the car in gear, when it starts it will run horribly for up to about 20 seconds then finally even out to where you can drive it. Giving it gas will either stall it or overcompensate the motor with fuel.
