  • Valve Tick & Oil Pressure

OK, I have a hole in my exhaust just past the Y-Pipe before the cat converter. Thats the only thing I can think of that would explain this... But tonight I was stuck in a huge line at a drive thru and my car started to get warmer than I like to let it get so I had it in neutral and was keeping the RPMs up at around 2000-2500rpms to keep **** moving... Well, I turned the stereo off too because my battery is kind of old and likes to drain it when I am not moving in traffic so I was listening to my crappy stock exhaust which allowed me to hear two things... One of which sounded like valve tick. The other happened when I would kind of rev it up a little bit and let off the gas -- kind of ricey-backfiring-small explosions sort of sound.. Is it possible both of these are being caused by the fist size hole in my exhaust that is opening up?

Also, does anyone happen to know stock oil pressure when the motor is warmed up at idle for a 95 F-Body 3.4 ?? Just wondering if mine is sitting real low or not. Thanks.

I have had so many problems with my exhaust leaking. The ticking your hearing could definately be because of your exhaust leak as well as the popping. The oil pressure...I cannot comment on, sorry
