I've never had a problem with my AC before but I guess there's a first time for everything. Today I was on the interstate and when going up an incline and punching the gas, the AC vented into the floor. Anyone had this problem and fixed it? With summer approaching I want to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks for your ideas.

My 97 Camaro has the same problem. From what I understand it is suppose to mean you have a vacume leak. I have looked for mine with no luck. If anyone else has had this problem and gotten it fixed let us know.

could have a vacuum check valve issue or a vacuum reservoir issue

Re: AC vacuum leak? Venting to floor.
I myself have already changed both my check valve that is located in the rear passenger side of the engine compartment as well as replaced the plastic vacuum hose that goes down to the vacuum tank or resevoir. The A-holes at the body shop cut mine when they replaced my front end and did not replace it!

Re: AC vacuum leak? Venting to floor.
I got 1/8th vac tubing at th Zone, used the elbows in place at the ck valve and the MAP, and bypassed the harness with new tube.
bingo.
just left it there and it works boffo.
It is humid in DC during summer, but I couldnt face AZ with an F-body A/C unit...

Re: AC vacuum leak? Venting to floor.
So you just ran a new vacuum hose to your actuator? thats not going to fix the issue. What is happening is when you put the engine under a load, you lose the supply vacuum. you have a check valve which keeps the engine from pulling the vacuum out of your ac vacuum system and then you have a reservoir which holds "extra" vacuum for these driving conditions. if the check valve or reservoir is leaking, you will experience this issue of your vents going into their "default" position.
running a new line will do nothing for you cause you need that check valve and reservoir.
