  • Running low on fuel, turn off car, or idle?

Ok, lets say you are running really really low on gas. You are stuck in traffic, and keep hitting long red lights. What takes more fuel, shutting the car off while you arn't moving and restarting, or just letting it idle?

So, basically, does it take more fuel to start a car than it does to idle the car?

i would think it takes more fuel to idle.. can't burn fuel if engine isn't running.

Takes more fuel to fire the car cause it primes all the cylnders with fuel and spray continue untill engine is started.
