Recently bought a 96 V6 and I have what is maybe a stupid question. On my car, the oil cap isn't a normal cap...you know, they usually are plastic and have the oil can symbol, or say "fill oil here" or something like that. Instead of that, my car has this kind of round funnel type thing. it comes off the valve cover about 4-5 inches or so, and has a slight bend toward the front of the car. There is no cap on it at all. Should there be a cap of some kind on this? Or is this normal? I've never seen something like this before. I just have the feeling there should be some kind of cap on it. Thanks in advance for the info.

Re: Oil fill cap question
I took a couple pics, hope they show it good enough. I've never seen something like this before. Where the normal plastic screw on oil fill cap should be...I have this thing with no cap. Now, I know if you run the engine without an oil cap, you get oil shooting all over the place. This doesn't do that at all, but you can add oil through it. I think I'm just missing the cap, but like I said...I've never seen this before. It does not come off either. It will not unscrew from the valve cover. Am I going crazy? Or has someone seen this before. Thanks.
