What would a full bolt on car include? Trying to figure out what else I can do without going into the engine. Currently have cat-back, gutted cat, CAI, aluminum driveshaft, and am getting Posi rear end with 3.73's, headers, and my cat removed, and maybe a cutout. What's left for me to do?

Re: Full Bolt On Car
I'm not really interested in suspension parts. The only racing I'll be doing is at the track, no sharp cornering or anything, so no real reason for suspension. I know some things will help me get the power more to the ground, but it's just not what I want/need. Have done plugs, will be doing wires, and once I get the gears in, I'll be saving up for a tune, and possibly a mild cam. Just want to makes sure I get most of the bolt-on stuff out of the way before I go into the engine.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: Full Bolt On Car
i guess you could do weight reduction... spare tire removal and such is somthing you can do that is for free... but you will be risking alot and taking alot out of your car if you are looking for a noticable gain... even more so it will suck if it is your DD

Re: Full Bolt On Car
it is my DD. I don't want to mess with the suspension. I did that on my old blazer (got lowering springs), and it threw the whole alignment and all out of wack, so I'm not doing that. I know there's mods that will help me get the power to the ground for draggin, but this is my DD, I'm satisfied with the current stock suspension, and I'd rather spend my money getting more ponies from my engine then getting my current ponies to the ground. I may be retarded or w/e, but I don't care. I'm just asking what else is there to do to get more power from the engine.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: Full Bolt On Car
you can have all the ponies you want under the hood, but it won't do squat if you can't put it to the ground.
LCAs are just fine for DD cars

Re: Full Bolt On Car
As for suspension the springs are perfect for launching, v8 guys take the v6 rear springs all the time for drag cars. I would get aftermarket LCAs and aluminium DS. I had headers on my 97 and didnt feel that much so on my 99 I dont have them. As for weight reduction, loose the front bar, spare and jack (fit a flat nice), rear seat and rear seat belts. I have intake and exhaust with suspension and 4.10 and I feel my 99 is faster than my 97 blown full exhaust 3.08 car. Hope this helps

Re: Full Bolt On Car
Kronic, I don't have my headers yet, and the car came with the cat-back system. So, I can't really compare. If you're looking at getting one, get the cat-back, cuz otherwise your stock exhaust will just bottleneck the headers, and they won't do squat. Plus, a cat-back will make it sound better :D.
quick97bird, I'm getting headers to 1-improve the exhaust flow which will be needed for a nice cam, and 2- hopefully get a meaner sound from the car. Once summer's over, the rear seats will be removed, along with the spare and jack. I'm getting 3.73's soon since it's a DD highway driven car, otherwise I would have gone with 4.10's :D.
Everyone else, thanks. From what you guys are saying, I've pretty much done (or will be doing) all the basic performance engine mods. I might take a look into some LCA's since everyone's recommending them.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~
