but gm does alot of stupid stuff like mispelling "gauges" with "gages" and haveing the trunk automatically pop when you install the battery! lol

The reason they spell "gauges" "gages" is because it lines up better and thus the light can shine through it more evenly. So "Check Gages" is better illuminated and fits better than "Check Gauges."
