  • weird tail light problem

I did a search and really couldnt find anything similar to what I'm experiencing. The other day, I noticed that when I turned on the right side turn signal it stayed solid. Turned out to be a burnt out tail light bulb that I replaced. After replacing it today another problem came up. Now both tail lights are acting funny. They will work fine for awhile, then stop blinking and stay constant on...and its completely random when it happens. Also, when I turn on the turn signal, instead of both bulbs blinking at the same time, it appears as if one comes on and then the other comes on a split second later. I also think that the left side is blinking at a different rate than the right side. I'm going to try and get a video up of what its doing, any ideas what else could be the problem...possibly the blinker unit under the dash starting to go bad?

Update: I just made a video, hopefully this might give a better idea of the problem. Here's the link, its only 2.5 megs.

could be the actual blinker that makes the lights go on and off

just take off the driver side kicker pannel turn on your blinker and find where is the blinker is. Its a small aluminum cylinder looking that with two wires comming out of it. Just disconnect it run down to autozone or someother autoparts store and replace it. Simple as that shouldn't take no more than an hour if you go really slow.

I was thinking that too...but what are the odds that the regular blinker and the hazard blinker are both having the same problem?
