Anyone know the proper type of glue to use when re-assembling the bucket? I picked up some plastic-plastic glue, but I have no idea if it will desolve in the gasoline. The TSP Walbro Fuel kit I got did not come with any.

Also is it ok for the bucket to fill up with fuel? Is that normal? Reason I'm asking, is there was a robber grommet on the top of the original pump that sealed the bucket pretty well, the new Walbro did not come with an upper grommet, just the rubber adapter for the pickup.

just ditch the bucket and ziptie the pump to the metal rod. That is what I did and it has been fine now for 2 years. Many others ditch the bucket as well.

Cool, never though about that. The darn rubber standoffs on the bucket seem to be degradded anyhow, they were falling apart.

Probably a good idea anyhow I'm guessing, I saw that the pickup on the bucket is a pretty restrictive rubber hole.

Did you cut your rear deck or pull the tank?

I cut the access panel when I did mine. Made it alot easier and if I need to do anything in the future I can have it opened in 10-15 minutes :)

Someone should make and sell a panel kit for that, you know? Maybe include a panel that would go back in with screws and have a template that would be exactly where you need to Dremel. Most cars have that panel installed at the factory. Why didn't Chevy think of this?!

Used a dremel with a flex attachment. Was nervous as hell for a bit, took a few small pieces out at a time, then when I got a good look at the clearences it went a lot faster. Pictures make the fuel lines look a lot closer to the top of the metal than they really are.

However the factory wiring harnes can be close and you may need to move it outa the way.

I'm sure that's the easiest way to do it. I'm just not sure I want to cut my car up just for the sake of ease.

90% of the time the first install will fail and you will need back in the tank......... then you have to drop the tank again
