So this would be my fist time changing the engine oil always had shops do it but now I'm getting tired of others touching my car and want to do it myself. So put the car on ramps went to the oil pan bolt to losen it and it wont even F-in losen, not even alittle. The bolt started to round off just alittle but not much so I gave up. I didnt warm the car up, the grade is 5w 30 so I didnt think it needed to warm up to help the viscosity, would warming it up help out with losen it? Already searched but didnt find anything I was looking for. Thanks for all your help and comments.

Re: Engine oil pan bolt help
or hook the closed end of another, larger wrench to the open end of the wrench on your bolt. it essentially makes the second wrench a cheater bar. it always help to pull towards yourself then pushing away. works for me anyways when I deal with really tight rusted bolts.

Re: Engine oil pan bolt help
you may need to resort to vice grips because if you started to round it off a box wrench will just make it worse if its tight, if you have an impact wrench it would be ideal, or access to one, the vibration works wonders
