I realize this is for the firebird, but I wrote him and asked what kink of power I can expect. He wrote back and said that I should expect about 5-8 hp gain if I put this on my 96 3.8ltr. If you go to his "view other items" tab, you can see he has many of these units for many cars, but they all look the same. I don't know how the installation goes, but I definately don't want to cut any harness wires for this to work.

Well, in the ad he says that this isn't the resistor he is selling. He said that I have to actually cut one of my harness wires and install this kit into it. I really, honestly, truly DON'T want to cut any harness wires for something I'm unsure of. Also, I didn't ask him if this would throw a SES Code. You know how the OBD II is, it'll throw a code if you just curse at it.

okay, I'll order it. But, if my car starts acting all funny-n-stuff, I'm gonna raise h*ll with the seller! I have to admit though, for $40 it's worth a shot. Here goes...

What did the venom do, or what was it supposed to do? I mean, was it the same basic principal as this thing I just ordered?

It was supposed to tap into your ECU & TPS and increase 25% through 1-5k rpm band. It basically just threw a SES light and make my car run like ****. Hope you have more success with this. Let me know if you do ;)
