I have a '95 3.4L Camaro that always starts fine when it's cold. Every time I drive it somewhere and it warms up and leave it sit for more than 15+ min. and go back out and start it, the rpms only go to about 500 then quickly jump up to about 2000 and then back down to normal idle. It feels like its going to kill before the rpm's jump way up. Someone I know said it sounds like the IAC valve so I just cleaned it and it still does the same thing. I know someone else with the exact same car as mine and it does the same thing as well.

While I agree that the problem is probably electrical, I doubt that it has anything to do with the starter. As soon as the engine gets running the starter is no longer involved in the system. All the starter does is provide a push to get the flywheel and other internal engine components rotating.
