Power Antennae Question.. those with see inside..

first off.. figured this was more general as apposed to audio section because it really has nothing to do with the sound of my system.

anyway I have the factory power antenna on my bird and man is that thing noisy!.. it sounds like the damn thing is about to come apart whenever it puts the antenna up or down and when it reaches it's full up or full down position the thing makes a serious clunk sound. Is this normal or could something just be out of whack. I realize that our antennae motors are not isolated from the interior like they are on most cars with power antennae but man it seems loud to me.

Sounds normal to me. If it's that bothering, you could always fashion some kind of housing to slip around it with a hole for the antenna itself, put some soundproofing material to the inside, and see if that helps.
