  • How to fix leaking gas line(s)?

While I was under a 94 Camaro tonight working on the speed sensor, the smell of gas was really strong so I looked back by the fuel tank and saw gas dripping. Its leaking ight behind where the fuel filter is. There is a small metal bracket which supports what looks like 3 metal fuel lines all side by side and theres also a plastic line next to them as well (the plastic line snaps onto the fuel filter). I'm not sure which of the 4 lines is leaking since they are all bunched together and the metal lines are very rusted in that area. What's in involved in fixing a metal fuel line like that? Is it possible to cut out the bad piece and splice it together with a rubber hose with clamps on each end? And if that plastic hose is leaking, how would I splice/fix that? Thanks

You can replace a metal fuel line with a nylon one. First though you would have to relieve the fuel pressure. Then just take off all the clamps holding the lines to the car. Being a 94 I'm not sure if the lines are threaded or if they have tabs to pull them apart, you may need a tool to get them apart.
btw- I'm not sure if this is important or not (somebody else should chime in here) but apparently if you replace metal lines with rubber ones it has to say fluoroelastomer on it.
