there's a noise coming from my engine, sounds like its near the alternator. i don't think its the alternator though, since my voltage meter is ok and everything. my car still runs the same, but i get this kinda humming-toned noise that goes up and down, and speeds up when i accelerate. soooo tricky. that's a pretty ambiguous description, but anyone feel like guessing?

i\'m not an ambiturner.

Take the belt off and start teh motor to see if it goes away. if it does it's one of teh accesories.

i think you have a loose bearing in your alternator. this happened to my friend. just get a new one, or a h/o alt.
