  • Oil Pressure Help

    hey i took a 50 miles trip yesterday in 80 degress weather and at idle my oil psi was at about 30 and when drving wouldnt go above 50...is this normal?

    i never remember it being anything but around 60ish.
    i added 2 quarts of oil and its still at liek 57any help/suggestions?

    Your oil pressure will drop after you've driven it for 5 minutes or so. And that's ok for the most part. As long as you're idling at ~30psi or higher you're fine. If it makes you feel any better, your engine has an automatic safety shut off wen the oil psi dips below 12.

      phew, thanx man i got worried...it always used to be above or around 60...and it just started getting like this, idky

        Yup, that's fine. Mine stays at 30 when stopped at a light. While driving it's 50-62 psi.
