i'll bet if you hooked up the car to a hptuners or sum sort of advanced diagnostic computer you'd find out more.
i'll bet 10 bucks your car is doing like mine: mistaking some sort of engine noise for knock and pulling timing to some degree.

Not all F-bodies are created equally...he could have a factory freak, and you could be stuck with a dog. 100% possible considering the quality control used in our cars is based on probability (if 1 in a group is ok, then 20 others in the group are ok and don't need to be inspected)
Not sure on the 3.4 engines but i do know that often times when guys put in the "CAI" it actually sits on the top of the engine bay and collects the warm air given off by the engine. this actually can (and usually does) result in powerloss from the factory setup. so what kind of CAI is it?
oh and if im not mistaken (If i am someone correct me please), Pontiacs come with heavier interior pieces and more of them than Chevys. Pontiacs are always a bit more outrageous in their designs which usually only mean more weight.
it could be anything. check your door codes, the one for gears will look like "GU_" with the "_" being a number. gears would make a very large difference. if you have 3.08's and he has 3.42's... hes going to take you.
i ran 15.2 stock, and ive heard of people running as slow as 15.8 stock... and i know some people have hit high 14's. just keep modding.
2002 SOM Camaro- Sold
2006 S60- Sold
2000 Cherokee- The desert whip
sounds like a factory freak to me....i had 2 v6 camaros...a 93 and a 94 completely stock....93 -144,XXX miles the 94 -75,XXX miles. the 93 would kill the 94
Switch cars once and race, and see who wins. I say your problem is the nut holding the steering wheel.
It's possibly he has a factory freak, or you have a factory dog. Go get it dyno'd, or get some times and see how you're comparing to others. Gears are a big thing. My 3.73's were a nice upgrade from my 3.23's, and that's not that big of a jump. What tires do you have? What pressure? There's alot of little things that could be slowing you down.

i'm considering the 3.73 gears, could you (or anyone) answer a few questions i have about them?
1. What is the cost of new gears
2. Can i change them or should i have a shop do it (i am limited to what i can do mechanically)
3. what was the change in mpg's?
and there is no way he is a better driver than me, we might only be 30 minutes apart, but i still popped out first. He's still my little brother.
Cost of new gears. Depends if you want them brand new (which is impractical), or go to a junk yard and find some and get them from there.
Installing isn't that hard from what I remember on my neon years ago. So I believe you would be able to do it yourself, especially having this community behind you for support and answers if you get stuck at any part in the installation.
Gas differences.....You will noticed about a 1-2 mpg loss on the highway, but you will noticed a 2-3 mpg increase driving in the city...so you don't really loose much and in some cases you gain a few. So it's definitely worth it, not much to loose, but a lot to gain.
Edit: Also I noticed you both have automatics. I'm not sure, and actually have no clue but does anyone know if the shift points are the same for the 3.4 comero and the 3.4 Firebird?

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
