OK, I've noticed a ticking coming from my car. I tried to ignore it at first, thinking maybe it would go away. I hear it just fine inside the car, so it's pretty loud. I'm thinking it's a sticky lifter. Only way to fix this is to replace it, right? I just seafoamed about 10K ago, along with new plugs. Any other things it could be? It seems to be coming from the driver's side, right by the cowl. I'll try and get a sound clip tomorrow if I can. It's there when I first crank it up, and until the car warms up. Once it's warm, it goes away, but when I first start it up and drive away, you can hear it ticking.

Re: great, engine ticking!!
most likely a lifter ticking, could also be an injector or two that you are hearing as well as possibly an exhaust leak.
Seafoam is usually a temp fix for sticky lifters, eventually they will give out on most people even after seafoaming
