  • Car Started Smoking

I've been having problems with my car overheating. Tonight when I went to get gas, I turned off the car (it was under 210* almost normal) and I noticed smoke rolling from the front right side. There was also a strong smell of burnt oil/coolant. There is nothing leaking to the ground. I dont think it is the water pump, and I bought a new thermostat that I will hopefully install tomorrow. Anyone know what the heck is wrong?

Yeah, I had my oil changed a few days ago, but the smell has been there for some time now. If the waterpump went out, wouldnt it be leaking a little? Could all these problems be the thermostat? Another thing, could it be a clogged cat?

if you're smelling coolant AND oil... that's not too sweet. but maybe it's coolant leaking from a hose and onto a manifold where there is also a little oil.

another possibility is that it's spewing coolant when it overheats... my old IROC did that all the time before the motor swap.
