Every morning I turn the heat on and defroster for the front window and push in the rear button. It lights up and stays on for a minute and then clicks off. I click it on again and nothing...the light won't click on...so I wait a couple min. and it will go on again. what gives? it's really annoying not being able to see what's behind me in the morinng, especially when I'm running late in the morning.

There's a time limit set on how long the defroster can be on. The first time you push it the defroster should stay on for a while, then it goes off. You push it again and it comes on just briefly. I can't remember the times off the top of my head, but here's what you do: Figure out how long it runs the first time its pushed. Lets say its 3 min(and when pushed 2nd time 1 min); push it and let it run for like 2.5 min, then turn it off and then back on. It will now run for another 3 min. If your windows still iced over just turn it off and on again before the time runs out.
This is a safety built into the defroster system like therealwave said. It keeps you from frying the rear defroster grid. Only do what I said above if your window is still frozen over, or else you could cause some damage.~Derrick My Webpage
\'96 3.8L V6 M5 Firebird Y87 | 162.8 RWHP / 196.7 RWTQ
• SLP CAI • Y87 Package - 3.23s • 180º thermo w/ fan switch • TB spacer from DEE
1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4

hey spray'd, there is a lil trick to the rear defrost button that i learned on this site.
if you click it on the 1st time, it will stay on a lil while then click off right? when that happens, quickly click it again....this wont cause it to go back on but more like shutting it off. then if you wait like ten seconds click it again and it will come back on for like another minute.
i used to go crazy pushing the button a hundred times even punching the damn thing until i learned this method. Now im happy.
hope this helps man94 3.4L A4 white t-tops
moroso cai
3\"hi-flow pacestter exhaust
b&m shift kit
catco cat
01 T/A rear w/ 3.73\'s and posi
1 pc aluminum ds
blacked out signals
