  • Just got a 1998 Firebird part #2 HELLP!!

    Hello,
As some of you noted I should not have bought a car with out have it looked at but now I have and it has a leaky intake manifold. My dealer said about $450.00 to fix.
How bad could it be, and has any one here ever bought a car from a dealer and then found out there was an engine problem?? They are giving me the runaround saying the person is out who need to talk to me, 3 days now.
    Any help would be wonderful.

Some states have lemon laws. I believe most require 30 day warranty after purchase. I'm not 100% positive though. I know in Ohio there are none, but in WV there are. Find out the laws. If there are none, then you're SOL. Sorry bud.

Also, get another garage to look over the car. If it's the same dealership that sold you the car they may be taking you for a ride.

same leak here, below the intake manifold. My shop said only about $200-300 to fix. It isn't too serious though but it does shoot some antifreeze into the belt and it smells bad when I stop. I'll get it fixed before it gets too serious, I have to change the antifreeze every month or so.
