  • How long before your stock alternator died?

I have a 96' with the original Delco alternator and it finally died yesterday. 101K on the car. The charge gauge had been dipping into the yellow zone the past couple days, the Check Gauges light went on and the car wouldn't start anymore yesterday. Went to Schucks and they wanted about $160 for a new one which seemed a bit steep.

advance and autozone can check your alternator and you can then buy one for around 90-120 bucks plus a core charge if you bring the dead one back.
