K, where can I put the jack stands for the front of the car? The sway bar connections look nice, but I am don;t think they will hol the weight of the car
And the back? Can I just put the back of the car up or do I also have to put the front up to keep the car from rolling forward.
You can put them right next to where the normal jack spot is. There is these rails that are about 2-3 inches wide that have a few holes in them. Those are perfectly safe to put them on. i'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about. Check out www.installuniversity.com , they have some illustrations there.

I usually put the stands under the sway bar bushings. (not the end-links).
You can jack the back up without the front. The car could roll though, since the parking brake and the transmission hold the rear wheels only. It would be safest to block the front wheels with a brick or wedge or something. Although, the car is not going to roll once the weight of the car is on the jackstands (as long as the car is on level ground and the jackstands are on something solid like concrete).

Well, I put the rear up last night, and it didn't move. I left the jack to hold much of the weight with the jack stands there for support since I am not working under the car. I just wanted to take the wheels off to paint the calipers.
What about those black things? I've put my stands on those things, and they are fine. I've seen hydrolic lifts support the vehicle on those spots as well.

From my understanding this is a problem with the forth gen cars if you jack it in the wrong place it will fold on you. did it push the bottom of the fender out? mine was like that when I bought it I just took a peice of 2X4 and a hammer laid the end of the 2X4 on the flange anad hit the other end till it was straight again. this also pulled tghe fender back in to place. hope this helps

ok, just for clarity, i'm gonna add my 2 cents. [img]smile.gif[/img] the little black thing, that's the jack point. where it says, "do not jack here" it's talkin about the flap thing. it folded on me too, then i looked in the manual. who would've that that little book with the pretty car on the front had so much info. lol. night guys.
