hey everyone, out of pure curiosity what is the top speed floored of a 1985 Camaro with i believe a from factory upgraded transmission, with a 3.4L engine? I know the speedmeter only goes up to 85 MPH because the government was trying to cut down on speeding in the 1980's but 85 is just silly so what numbers can i expect? Also what are some peoples best speeds from stock 3rd gen 'maros or birds¿

the 3.8s dont have TOO much trouble getting up to 120, but thats when the speed limiter kicks in. I'd like to know from someone who has a chip I've got it up to 130 going downhill, though. A cop claimed he clocked me at 130 in my 85 2.8L not sure if I was going that fast but I did have the speedo wrapped...
bte if your car is anything like mine was I woudl nto reccomend those speeds... I had a was flying once... then bam car moves 2 lanes over without me turning the wheel jsut getting blown around...

Going oFF the speedo, you're limited to 85mph ;) , I think the stock limiter is 110mph.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built :rock:
