Re: Changing spark plugs
which plug do you have issues with on the 3.4? i change my plugs every 6-10k miles, so i've come up wiht a few tricks in the past 6 years...
is your car manual or automatic? if its auto, its even easier cause the air pump piping isn't in the way..
heres the tools i use to change my plugs.. i can have them chnaged over on average in about 15-20 minutes...
* spark plug socket with the universal joint built into the end of it (Autozone ~ $5)
* 3" extension (3/8" and 1/2")
* 6" extension (3/8" and 1/2")
* 3/8" ratchet
* 1/2" ratchet
* 1/2" Female to 3/8" male adapter
why do i use both 1/2" and 3/8" tools? easy.... with the 1/2" ratchet, the use of the adaptor provides just enough extra clearance to be able to take things out without using 3 differnet exentions and 2 additional universal joints. If you can find an extension that is ~ .5" long, that would most likely also serve the purpose.
I've done this job more times than i can count. the only problem i continue to have is getting the plug boot off of the driver side rear plug, due to the air pump hose being in the way.
hope this helps make your job easier....
