I'm thinking a compression test is a must for this 150k mileage '96 trans am I'm looking at, but i sure don't feel like pulling all the plugs myself, so what would a decent shop charge for this? And what other measures could I take to see what kind of condition the car is in?

probably wont be cheap since lt1 plugs are hard to get to.

how much are they wanting for this car anyways, honestly you can find one with a hell of alot less miles.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

you can check for even compression by disabling fuel or spark and cranking it listen for an even consitent crack thats what i do when im looking at a car

thats what i figured, and they want 5k for it. im thinking 3.5 or 4 cash. its pretty loaded though, alloys, all power, ttops, etc.

no damn way. i love me some lt1s (if i didnt i wouldnt have overpaid for mine) but theres no way in hell that even i'd pay 3500 for a 150k mile one. trust me keep looking and save yourself a future headache.

in my area its pretty common to find them with 70-80k and be around 6-7k maximum.. shop around, theres better deals.

i dont know, ive been looking for the past few months... alabama is the prime area for people buying camaros and firebirds, haha - so they go pretty quickly.

and the thing is, id have an extra 2 grand or so if i got the car for around $4k... the idea of a built lt1 is creeping into my mind :D :stp:
